How a general insurance company used Robot Processing Automation to improve process efficiencies

Background

Our client was a leading general non-life insurance company with operations around the globe that was looking to improve process efficiencies across their organization.

Challenges

The client’s existing operating model was highly dependent on people, rather than processes and systems. There was also a large volume of manual work that was highly error-prone.
This led to:

Inability to scale the existing operating model

Erroneous entries in the financial systems

A technical landscape which consisted of a host of legacy systems with no integration between applications

To establish an RPA CoE, our team conducted a two-week assessment/discovery of their processes and created a business case and a roadmap for the implementation of the CoE.

To establish an RPA CoE, our team conducted a two-week assessment /discovery of their processes and created a business case and a roadmap for the implementation of the CoE.

Solution

Our team of experts outlined the need for an Automation Centre of Excellence (CoE). This included the people, processes, and technology necessary to maximize the benefits of automation, including robotic process automation (RPA). It was crucial to finding new automation opportunities, scaling automation within the organization, and carrying out a long-term vision. The RPA Roadmap included:

All the potential processes that would be automated along with the prioritization of the process

Team structure that would be required to implement the CoE

Indicative budget and timelines for the implementation of the CoE

Governance structure for running of the CoE

Based on the roadmap, our team of RPA experts was deployed to implement and manage the RPA CoE.

Additionally, the assessment team was also involved in creating a proof of concept to help the client understand the full potential of the CoE.

Outcome

The RPA CoE established for the client resulted in an acceleration of their organization’s automation efforts.
It also helped:

Define priorities and manage the successful execution of RPA solutions
Cost saving, improved efficiency and increased resources

Reduction in
human error
rates

Redistribute
accumulated
knowledge
and resources
across future
deployments

Effectively channel resources and harness synergy between business and IT teams
